Laser micro- and nanostructuring
Research on functional surfaces, ultrashort-pulse processing, and precise control of structures from micrometre to nanometre scale.
HiLASE profile
Laser micromachining / Micro- and nanostructuring / Research leadership
I lead laser micromachining research at HiLASE Centre, focusing on high-throughput laser processes for functional micro- and nanostructured surfaces. The work spans multi-beam processing, beam shaping, and industrial applications. I also founded HoloRing.
Areas of work
Petr's HiLASE research, technology-transfer work, and HoloRing are described separately below.
Research on functional surfaces, ultrashort-pulse processing, and precise control of structures from micrometre to nanometre scale.
HiLASE profileMethods that increase processing throughput while preserving repeatability across larger areas and industrially relevant materials.

Founder storyResearch focus
Petr Hauschwitz has worked at HiLASE Centre, part of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, since 2016 and has led its Laser Micromachining research group since 2019. His work connects control at the micro- and nanoscale with the throughput, repeatability, and materials range needed for industrial use.
Leader of the Laser Micromachining research group at HiLASE Centre.
